Drunk driver charged after urinating during testing

A 49-year-old South Milwaukee woman who drove her car into a ditch and urinated into a garbage can while police were attempting to administer a breath test was arrested for drunken driving during the early morning hours of Jan. 28.

According to the Oak Creek police report:

The woman was driving southbound in the 6600 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:30 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, struck a mailbox and slid into a ditch.

She was arrested for drunken driving, third offense, at the scene after she refused to complete a breath test and urinated into a garbage can. She was also cited for disorderly conduct and failure to keep her vehicle under control.

She was taken to Wheaton Franciscan for a forced blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

Light snowfall helps police track break-in attempts

Oak Creek police are investigating a series of attempted vehicle break-ins that occurred sometime between the late evening hours on Jan. 27 and early morning hours of Jan. 28.

A resident in the 1200 block of East Fitzsimmons Road called police at 7 a.m. Jan. 28 to report he observed footprints in the snow leading up to and around his vehicle, and a handprint on the door that appeared to be an attempt to enter his vehicle. The resident then followed the footprints, which led to a neighbor's house and vehicle.

Police followed the footprints and discovered the unidentified person attempted to enter approximately 10 vehicles between East Fitzsimmons Road and South McGraw Drive. There was no damage reported to the vehicles and nothing was stolen.

According to the police log, later in the day a resident in the 900 block of East Stonewood Drive reported a Kodak digital camera, a Garmin GPS case, mounting bracket and charging cord and a Blackberry phone charging cord, valued at $235, were taken from his unlocked vehicle prior to 2 p.m. Jan. 28.

According to police, it is unknown whether this theft is related to the other attempted vehicle break-ins.
